Physical Activations & Experiential

Recorded vocabulary snapshot. This page is generated from a saved database extract, not a live connection. Rebuilding the site does not refresh its measurements. Draft wording comes from review notes; check recorded decisions for approved meaning. Stored values alone do not prove current prompt or filter behavior.

recorded level: Service · 0 pieces of work carry it · 3 entries in its comparison notes

The level names are Service → Discipline → Craft. This page uses the level recorded in the snapshot. Its definition and parent links still need individual review; the level name is not approval of either.

Recorded definition and use

A brand hires this when the deliverable is a PLACE or EVENT audiences attend — a product-launch event, a festival activation, a trade-show booth, a retail installation, an immersive live experience; bought from experiential agencies and event-production companies, often with fabrication and on-site operations included.

The service tier for physical-world brand experiences sold as engagements: live event production, pop-ups, trade show & exhibit design, brand installations, retail experience activations, and theatre/live/immersive productions (the Smuggler 'Theatre & Live' / Tool 'Experience' class of offering). [CS1 credit-only 2026-07-18: childless service tier — exists for the credit graph / vendor-offering menu (P0-11), not content classification; do NOT invent leaves under it from a census read. Strategy-leaf mirrors ride chunk 3 per the CS1 proposal.]

Tag it when…

Credit/vendor grain only: tag when a credited vendor sells physical activation work — live event production, trade show & exhibit design, pop-ups, installations, experiential — as its engagement scope (event_participations/campaign_companies roles are the natural anchors).

Never tag it when…

Never tag content items at this level (SERVICES-vs-CRAFT boundary law; childless service = credit/offer tier only). The FILM of an event is not this service: event-coverage footage tags Video Production/Post-Production craft leaves — event_coverage is a live content_type value, and the old video_production_event_coverage craft leaf is RETIRED (is_active=false), so it is never a craft claim. Spatial-design CRAFT on the asset side tags print_physical_design_environmental_design ('Environmental Design' under Print & Physical Design); digital layers inside an activation credit svc_digital_interactive.

Comparison notes for 3 other entries

These recorded notes compare this entry with related services, disciplines, crafts or other descriptions. Their wording remains subject to review.

  • print physical design environmental design ('Environmental Design' leaf) — Environmental Design is the spatial-design CRAFT an asset/space exhibits; this service is the vendor engagement that produced the activation. Craft tags land on content; the service lands on credits.
  • svc digital interactive — Physical production of the event/space credits here; the interactive/digital layer inside it (screens, AR, real-time) credits Digital & Interactive Experiences. One activation can carry both.
  • event coverage (content type) + Video Production leaves — Footage OF the event is a content_type on a video asset made with film craft — never evidence of this service on that asset. The service attaches to the event's producing vendor, not its coverage.

At what size it applies

Credit grain only — vendor-offering/credit menu tier; content items never tag this level.
