Which differences should we keep when we organize work?

Similar names can describe the same thing, or answer different questions. This sitting tests those differences against your earlier decisions and a fresh reading of the stored records.

What I need from you

Review each recommendation below. Choose Agreed, explain where you differ, or leave it open.

The pictures give context; they do not prove the proposed classification. Open a row for the examples, current counts and limits.

Your answer settles the meaning we should build toward. It does not approve a database change, a finished filter list or a completed interface.

Should Customer Story be the shared name for accounts of using a product, with User Story finding the same work?

Use one name; preserve who is speaking. A person using a free product and a business using a paid product can both describe their experience. Requiring proof of payment would make the distinction unreliable. A label is a word or phrase describing a piece. A beat is a short stretch inside a video.

Already decided, 11 September: Vlog stays a word.

Already decided, 4 October: Several types can describe a whole piece, with one leading; a contained beat never supplies a whole-piece type by itself.

Should an endcap remain distinguishable from other aisle displays, while both can be found through in-store displays?

Keep the distinction; offer a shared way in. End-of-aisle placement can matter to someone researching retail. Calling every aisle display an endcap would lose that difference.

Already decided, 10 August: Offline placement is part of the model, such as a news article showing an outdoor ad or an airport photo someone takes. Geography, language and reception are captured too.

Already decided, 3 October: A photograph of work links directly to the piece it depicts and keeps its own identity.

Should a branded object keep its kind, with gifting recorded separately when evidence supports it?

Keep gifting as a separate fact. The same hoodie could be sold or given away. A photo alone does not tell us which happened, and a gift may include several objects.

Already decided, 3 October: A photograph of work links directly to the piece it depicts and keeps its own identity.

Should we keep how a product appears separate from the role it plays in a moment?

Keep the questions separate; clarify the choices. A moment is a stretch inside a video. A product interface can be shown while the product is the main subject, actively used, or only incidental.

Already decided, 13 July: A label on a piece must be true of the whole piece. A beat inside it is a moment.

Can a campaign continue without a planned ending, while its purpose remains a separate description?

Allow ongoing campaigns; require evidence of the grouping. A coordinated customer-story campaign can continue over time. A search that collects every customer story is not automatically evidence of a campaign.

Already decided, 10 August: A campaign is a container you file pieces in. The kinds of grouping are a campaign, a brand-and-identity program, a project, and an event or season.
